Komentarze: TestRail was implemented to do the record taking for manual regression testing and planning.

Zalety:

Great product allowing us to keep history of our testing and specifically regression testing of our software development team

Wady:

Find some reporting can be difficult, but in general it is a great tool for managing our regression testing test cases, and ensuring that they have all been run.

Best test management tool for QA

Komentarze: It saves my time and its very useful for QA use this tool, actually you can create everything in this tool and not use other tools.

Zalety:

I'm using this tool everyday at my work, create test cases, tracking their status, and also create different reports to see the status. This tool works fast, has good user friendly design, by tracking results you can get an email notification.

Wady:

Didn't find any drawbacks its really fast and convenient in using, also help to keep all info in one place.

Used to be great, now it is horrible

Komentarze: I've been told their team was decimated after it was bought out. They have only 20 people to handle 11,000 customers. A product that is supposed to be for QA, is not QA'd before releases. If you are considering this product my advice is to run in another direction. You will be disappointed if you invest in TestRail.

Zalety:

I loved it before it was sold. It was solid, easy to use, and made our work flow simple and efficient. That is no longer the case

Wady:

Since it was bought out, it is now horrific. Test data disappears or is inaccessible. Test runs disappear. EVERY single release is extremely buggy. And knowing that, they still continue to push the release in waves to other customers instead of fixing high priority issues first. Tickets are opened and we get the canned "we're working on it" but rarely are bugs fixed correctly the first time (if at all). We have had months of work disappear with a single release. We've had things break where we were unable to access our tests for days or even weeks at a time. I went from convincing my entire company to join in to use this product, to now only having 3 of us left who will touch it. It's just sad how far it has fallen.

Perfect QA platform for teams spread across the globe

Zalety:

- Web based - doesn't require a localized server installation (unless you want to) and can be accessed by anyone with credentials, no matter where they are located without any effort - Very easy to use and gives you a very neat category division when it comes to test cases, test runs and milestones

Wady:

Can't search and replace words in multiple test cases at the same time which makes it harder to re-use existing test cases with only small changes

Easy to use and mantain. Very useful to do regressions.

Komentarze: I use it every day. It's very easy to define the tests and execute them manually and with automations.

Zalety:

It's very easy to use, with different kind of configurarions and customizations.

Wady:

The tests scenarios are not versioned. There's not possibility to see previous changes or have different versions of them.

Test rail : Manages test like a charm.

Komentarze: It has been a great experience working on this software.

Zalety:

the process is very easy for writing test cases about a feature in development and assigning the same to the relevant story. Also, a user can assign and link multiple bugs to the same story which will be mapped with JIRA.

Wady:

Test rail is very comprehensive in nature and has various options to generate reports but the velocity chart and RTM can be improved.

Good tool for test management

Komentarze: Its been good experience to use this tool as we are managing all test cases of one project in testrail its been easy to manage.

Zalety:

Its very good for managing test cases modules wise. And provides API also yo integrate with your automation code.

Wady:

Cost wise its very high. Integration with jira not providing that much of features as compare to Xray.

Inexpensive, basic test management tool you should implement from day 1

Komentarze: Saves us a ton of time/money in testing, helps our process stay consistent, and makes it faster to bring up new employees.

Zalety:

Easy and simple way to build a QA process, plus it's web-based, easy to admin, and has a simple UX that even our QA co-ops can follow for manual test. Has scaled well with our team.

Wady:

Not much to not like. Works as advertised but doesn't seem to tie easily into automated testing, maybe that could be an add on in future.

Essential piece of our Test Framework

Zalety:

TestRail allows us to manage our test cases with great Jira integration.

Wady:

Some of the admin was a bit cumbersome when we first started such that there wasn't a good split between the person that administers the accounts and who pays for it.

Good test management tool

Zalety:

TestRail offers advanced reporting and analytics features that are highly useful for testers. The tool can generate a range of reports, including progress reports, test coverage reports, and defect trend reports, among others. These reports can be used to track testing progress and identify areas for improvement, helping testers to make more informed decisions and work more efficiently.

Wady:

TestRail's support options can be limited. While the tool does offer documentation and a community forum, users may find it difficult to get support in a timely manner, particularly for more complex issues.

Stellar Feature Rich Platform

Zalety:

The ease of use for maintaining, connecting and sharing test cases are unrivaled. The platform is so feature rich every time I think of a feature I want to request they already have it!

Wady:

Takes a good amount of time to spin up a valuable framework. I think this can be mitigated by some test case best practices or maybe a super-user demo within the platform.

Wonderful for testing and analytical reviews

Komentarze: I have used TestRail for the last five years for user acceptance testing and have used it for creating test cases, adding results viewing the history of results, creating reports, etc. It has been of great help for me and made my work as a QA very easy. I can't imagine working with excel and losing results due to some problem with my workstation or something, plus it becomes very difficult to maintain it in one place. TestRail is a great product and I highly recommend it.
I also thing TestRail can still take some inspiration from zephyr to include their reporting metrics and easier importing of test cases and their mapping.

Zalety:

For me the best thing about TestRail is the visual representation of the test results in the form of graphs, This gives me a quick and easy idea about the stability of the tested software, another thing that is very useful is the format of test suites and test runs.

Wady:

I think importing testcases from excel can be made a little easier with better mapping and easy uploads.

Easy to use Test Management tool

Zalety:

Its very easy to add the test scenarios in the existing Test Run. We can create multiple Test runs and could create a lot many reports with different filters. As an admin too its very easy for me to give specific access to different members in my team.

Wady:

There should be some report format where I could show the Stories, linked Test scenarios, linked defects and their status in more readable way. As of now its there but I feel their is a need of more clarity in the reports.

Very mature test management tool

Komentarze: I'm very happy with it, it's stable, has a slick UI and overall it's a well-built product.

Zalety:

It can cover all of my needs in the entire test life cycle, it's very customizable - I've been adding a lot of my own custom fields to test case templates, for instance. It supports adding shared steps to make your tests more concise, lot of reporting options, milestones, test planning. Pretty much everything a tester needs.

Wady:

I would like to see an option to add data parameters for my tests.

Title of my review

Komentarze: Overall the solution is one of the best I used in the past 10 years. Powerful test case management capabilities and API for automation so we can aggregate manual testing results as well as results from automation. But missing some collaboration features we are used to from google suite.

Zalety:

- managed in cloud - powerfull customization options - easy to use - option of templates for TC

Wady:

- some reports are complicated to get, as who worked on what in the past quarter - to customize some stuff is sometimes quirky - hard to use for exploratory testing - collaboration on preparing test plan is a pain, it does not allow two testers add stuff to test plan simultaneously

Intuitive Tool that boosted QA tester productivity!

Komentarze: We have had very good success with TestRail managing multiple products/features within the same instance. We have tight delivery deadlines and TestRail has allowed us to increase the speed we complete our tests by about 20%. I would highly recommend it!

Zalety:

- Very easy to use, the team was using it full time within 1 week - Great price vs some of competition - Reporting is very helpful for management - Easy integration with automated testing tools - Custom fields allows us to customize for our needs

Wady:

- It would be nice if TestRail included bug tracking functionality, but it just integrates with other tools - I wish you could add "read-only" users for free like some tools

Organization of Test and Issues Resolution

Komentarze: Excellent tool for managing the chaos! Much better than passing around emails.

Zalety:

Ownership and organization of issues is my favorite feature. We load data into our cloud solution and issues arises. Using TestRail, we can log issues, provide all pertinent notes and files about that issue in one place. Also, we always know who "owns" the next step on the issue to resolution. The "ToDo" view is also very useful. Todo lets me know what I own across many projects.

Wady:

Reporting may be available but I don't see it.

Nice UI but there are a few features missing that would help track individual work

Komentarze: It's faster than free product, better interface and easy to use API

Zalety:

The Test Cases Organization and flexibility to create tests. The possibility to add custom fields and that after, you can filter by those fields

Wady:

The way the Test plans are managed, there is no easy way to delete tests from a given configuration in a test plan and the reporting is very basic, not allowing Leads or managers to see progress for individuals

Test Rail high level review

Zalety:

It is very intuitive. If one used other such tools for test documentation and tracking, it really very use to start with Test Rail.

Wady:

1) Configuration of the tool is a bit too rigid. I would make it more streamlined and have some admin features for configuration made available for regular users 2) Errors. Rather errors explanations. If possible to expand on what the exact issue is when we get an error.

Great test case management tool

Komentarze: I used it in two companies already for 5 years now. In general i like the flexibility and that even non QA's can use the tool.

Zalety:

- easy to use - you can create a lot of testcases but you still keep the overview - you can connect it with jira - after some time the UI is easy to use and you can give the test case to tester

Wady:

- design is outdated and could be a bit more intuitiv

Great tool for the price

Komentarze: TestRail has been great for us, we are able to have all of our projects in TestRail and we are able to link all of our automated tests to our manual test and our CI/CD system. So when a build kicks off, it will create a test run and flip all the tests we have automated test to either pass or fail. Then we can go in and see the gaps of our automated tests, and also run those manual tests for our releases.

Zalety:

Ability to use the API to link our automated test our manual test cases.

Wady:

Bulk closing of test runs would be great, and the reporting could be a little better.

Good management very robust tool that can match most sdlc

Komentarze: Long time user and adapter

Zalety:

- clean interface - a few ways to equip/start projects - a lot of integrations - available API

Wady:

- so as much as it is adaptable by doing so it also makes it not the strongest tool since it needs to support many different styles - reporting engine to do customizations is a learning curve

Easy to use

Komentarze: We liked the product but had a hard time integrating it with other software (Jira cloud version and TestRail cloud). But that was mostly our IT department not wanting us to connect that way. We moved to DevOps with it's Test Plan feature so had no need for TestRail anymore

Zalety:

This was very easy software to use. We used the cloud version. We were able to quickly setup Test Plans and cases with reports to watch how we were doing quality wise. The printed versions and online print versions of test cases were very useful.

Wady:

The export wasn't as good as I hoped. It lost all the images we had stored in each of the test cases.

Awesome Life Cycle App

Zalety:

It's pretty easy to learn and very quickly onboarding it

Wady:

No slack integrations very bad no have many integrations with other platforms

Outdated software. Features don't work.

Zalety:

Nothing. I do not recommend buying this software.

Wady:

We faced with several issues using TestRail and Testrail still doesn’t resolve them (And I’m not sure they will resolve them in future): 1. It is not possible to link test cases and other documentation to tickets in ClickUp 2. It is not possible to automatically generate reports for Autotests from Gitlab for Cypress every time the tests are run
