Great On-Line Software - Easy to use

Komentarze: Been using it for about 10 years and also for payroll and we are very happy with it. I like how it pays all your taxes on time for you.

Zalety:

Easy to use and if you need help they call you back very fast and fix the problem

Wady:

Is a little pricy but in the big picture it's well worth it. Only other thing it's always updated with the newer software and you get surprised that all of a sudden things are different.

If you are an attorney, just go with Clio Accounting; Quickbooks might be longer in business, but Clio was made for lawyers

Komentarze: Why is QB becoming so expensive? I originally chose QB because of loyalty to Intuit. I tried for a while but trying to get my finances in order after so long of commingling my business and personal accounts became too much. When I decided to try it again recently, now I am far priced out as a small business and as far as I know, the services are the same. I found the price hike highly disappointing. It was a good time to find out Clio began offering accounting for attorneys

Zalety:

I liked that it integrates with Clio as well as the other intuit product line; the interface is fairly navigable, but i am unsure the pros outweigh certain drawbacks

Wady:

QB was fine, a bit hard to understand for a non-accountant; but I guess that could be because i never made use of their expert help and insisted on onboarding myself totally manually as a new businessperson

Never Again

Komentarze: It's exhausting, the AI features are constantly wrong. Income is easily duplicated. Expenses end up magically deleted.

Zalety:

It's well known, complex to use correctly so it makes it easy to get clients.

Wady:

Pretty much everything. It got to point I was tired of fighting with the software that I moved all clients off of it.

QB Online Great for Beginners

Komentarze: Overall QB online is a cost-effective, user-friendly system which I will continue to use as our business grows. For reference, we have grown to multiple seven figures in revenue and will not be leaving QB anytime soon!

Zalety:

I have been using QB online since I first started our business in 2018 as a complete beginner. QB online has quite an intuitive interface and an excellent customer support service as needed. The online forums are also well answered so you can look things up as you need.

Wady:

The mobile app does not allow you to access any payroll features. Also, there are times when the automatic banking download feed does not work correctly and you need manually enter any missed transactions. Lastly, they recently changed to being charged per employee at each payroll run, so if you have staff which are away, or part time workers, you have to manually change their status each payroll run so as to not get charged - this is a new change and a nuisance.

Mostly positive, not perfect

Komentarze: Overall positive; it has all the functionality and tools youd want/need. Project tracking and its integration with financial statements could be streamlined (like you have to allocate payroll time to projects before runing payroll for it to allocate on the financials correctly and that information is buried to find). Wouldnt recommend payroll services, but as an accounting and data management system QBO is great. The ability to easily addd team members and accountants is great.

Zalety:

Ease of sharing and integration; bank feeds are good when they work

Wady:

Customer support is questionable and relies on canned responses to most things that are google-able by the user and have already been attempted. PNC is a major bank and the bank feed connections with it suck. If you can even get it connected they frequently get disconnected. I understand its pnc's structure and security but theyre a major bank and it should be smoother. Also the payroll options are horrendous and if anything goes awry goodluck trying to get it fixed since most things are locked and not viewable or manually fixable and require support who barely know what theyre doing (especially a problem for Ohio and PA local taxes)

- reports are easy
- auto payroll is great but they don't have auto tax deductions like Wave. You have to manually transmit taxes to CRA (for Canada).

Zalety:

For new business owners who are not from accounting background, quickbook makes it easy to handle payrolls and taxes.

Wady:

Well I personally found the accounting module which they try to sell most to be more complicated and hard to setup despite coming from a business background compared to other comparable software like Wave. Now this is not a massive issue as quickbook has lots of community resources and a very helpful customer support to guide us. Secondly issue I personally have is tue smart screen sharing method they have for problem solving whereby customer support will connect you with an agent with shom you share your screen and they guide you through your issue. This is fine but I wish a lot of stuff could easily he done in the backend by the agent rather than making it so long to go through screen sharing.

Fantastic Software for Small Business Owners

Reliable accounting software

Komentarze: I have used QuickBooks for years and can't see myself using another accounting software.

Zalety:

I enjoy the ProAdvisor program. It has wonderful features and excellent training. I also like that there are tools that make it easier to handle accounting in one place. I don't have to contact customer support often, but when I do, my issue is handled quickly.

Wady:

I would like to see the sales tax area updated. Sometimes, bank connections get frustrating.

The leader for a reason.

Komentarze: Overall impressed I have used with many clients and always recommend a new client to start off with the product. Easily integrated into many programs and fits businesses from small to enterprise level is a huge bonus.

There are so many amazing and useful features of Quickbooks. Personally the ease of making company reports, keeping track of all expenses in the business.

I dislike the changes, sometimes they are for the better but you become accustomed to a certain way of doing things and then it is altered. However overall it is a great product.

QBO is a game changer!

Komentarze: I think it is affordable if you purchase via a proadvisor. Intuit will hike the price up so find a proadvisor to buy it from.

It is very user friendly. Understandable for even the non accountant.

sales tax is not accurate but they said they are working on it. Price is a little high for small businesses.

QuickBooks on Impact!

As a Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant, what I liked most about QuickBooks Online was its user-friendly interface and cloud accessibility. It allowed me to manage financial data in real-time from anywhere, which was especially helpful when coordinating with clients remotely. QuickBooks Online also made reconciling accounts and generating reports straightforward and efficient, which streamlined the bookkeeping process and improved accuracy.

Wady:

What I liked least about QuickBooks Online was its occasional lag, especially during peak usage times. This could slow down workflows, particularly when working on larger files or when multiple users were accessing the account simultaneously. Additionally, some advanced features are limited or only available in higher-tier plans, which sometimes meant workarounds were necessary for more complex accounting tasks.

Best Software for Businesses, however not for personal finances

Komentarze: I had purchased multiple accounts after speaking with a representative. I did one for our business, and they had told me that I could manage our personal finances on the other one. I found that using this software to try and manage personal finances was not as great as other software out there. However for business, this is hands down the best software that I had used. I recommend this for businesses, however do not recommend them for personal finances to help build budgets and have more control.

Quickbooks has great automation features and the ability to connect a wide range of accounts for your business.

Wady:

As a newer customer not as familiar with QuickBooks, I found that navigating at times was sometimes difficult until you learn the buttons or locations.

Quickbooks Online for Small Business Accounting

Komentarze: QBO online is my preferred software for accounting for small businesses. I prefer QBO to any other software I have used.

Zalety:

QBO is easy to use and understand for clients even if they are not accountants. They can see their bookkeeping at any time with QBO.

Wady:

Sometimes there is a learning curve for clients. I wish there was a way to create a simpler dashboard for them.

QBO stinks

Komentarze: When I used the old desktop version, I could look forward to reconciling my bank statement to the penny. All that change with the online version. With it, reconciling became such an impossible task that I only knew what was in the bank by using the bank's app. QBO would be off by thousands of dollars. They will offer you a bookkeeper to fix the mess for you for several thousand dollars, witch I don't have, or you will have to leave it with an accountant to try to figure out. Either way, you're going to pay. Tax time is a real mess. Plus never really knowing how your business is doing. It seemed like every entry is counted twice. I sat thru hours of help videos on you tube to try and figure this trainwreck out but it never made sense to me that a company that is named Intuit could be so Un intuitive. If you are a small business, I would look at other accounting software company's to work with. Once you get started with this one and you want to change to another you will have to pay for a conversion of your QBO file to something else and that NEVER goes well Trust me. Do your homework and find something else from the start.

Zalety:

Remotely sending invoice to a customer and getting payment online is very enticing. The desktop version can only do that with the aid of another app. The idea of tracking milage is also a nice add on if it were accurate.

Wady:

I used QB desktop for 25 years and really found it helpful but they steered me toward the online version and things went downhill fast. They have to convert your old file to the new layout and they made a hash of my file. I had to hire local "Expert" to try to fix it at my expense. The chart of accounts was changed drastically. The time saving features didn't materialize. They only thing that was constant was the need for another expert at my expense.

Once you learn it, it feels like home!

Komentarze: While it is has taken some time to learn to how to create and customize according to our needs, I now feel it quite simple to handle our accounting and reporting.

Zalety:

Remote access to our books and allows me to provide access to my accountant and board treasurer. Reports are easy to produce. Entering and classifying transactions is simple now that I know the software.

Wady:

It would be great if the nonprofit version would default to the proper statement names such as Statement of Activities (for P/L) and Statement of Financial Position (for Balance Sheet).

User friendly Quickbooks for Small Business

Komentarze: What really sets QuickBooks Online apart, is its array of video tutorials. Whenever I've hit a snag or needed a little extra guidance, the video tutorials have been a lifesaver. They're easy to follow, breaking down complex tasks into simple, step-by-step instructions. This feature has significantly reduced my troubleshooting time and helped me become more confident in using the software.

I absolutely love Quickbooks for its user-friendly interface and extensive resources that make managing finances quick and easy along with a fantastic array of video tutorials

Wady:

I believe Quickbooks should create a few standard chart of account with sub categories to help new inexperience users get started in managing their accounts with ease.

Very strong "good" position

Komentarze: Starting from 2022 as a second user in the company I now can be the only one user since I have access to almost everything that I need for keeping small company on waves. Almost all the question about how to find user-friendly options can be found just online or from QuickBooks support forum.

Zalety:

Having different type of statements and reports, especially the customized one, that can be created via QB.

Wady:

The process of inactivation after 15-30 minutes without activity.

User-Friendly and Reliable, but May Struggle with Complex Business Needs

Some advanced features are only available in the accounting view, which can be limiting for users who may also have accounting responsibilities but don’t have access to this view. Additionally, as your business grows in size or complexity, especially with multiple subsidiaries, QuickBooks Online may not be robust enough to handle more intricate financial requirements.

Customer service has gone severely downhill with Quickbooks

Komentarze: Collaboration and customer service are nonexistent with this company. Nobody is on the same page. I talked to one person who told me to cancel my merchant account, which I'd been using for 4+ years, because they couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. After over an hour on the phone this representative had me cancel my account and informed me that he would call me in 3 business days, once the cancelation could process, one Monday at 1:00pm and set up a new merchant account for me. Three days later a different Quickbooks rep called me to schedule an appointment to set up my merchant account. I informed her I already had an appointment with the gentleman I spoke with a few days ago, he knows what's going on with everything. She said she didn't know what I was referring to and so I set up an appointment for a couple of days later. Finally, I got a call to set up my merchant account so I can start invoicing like I have been for the last few years and accepting card payment through an emailed link. I am informed that because I am setting up a new account, I no longer get the same rates/fees as I had before because those were grandfathered in with my old account. So now, instead of my $15.00 cap on AHC transactions that I had had and been using for over 3 years, had been replaced with a 1% fee on all AHC transactions. I am a General Contractor and most of the invoices people pay are $10,000.00 or more which means now instead of paying $15.00 on that transaction I pay $100.00. The lady who set up my new merchant account, of course, has no idea why the original person I spoke with had me cancel the account in the first place but that there was nothing she could do to help me and nobody she could transfer me to would be able to help figure out why the person had me cancel my merchant account or help me reinstate my original fee structure. It's very suspicious how this all happened, and I will be looking for alternative Accounting software.

Quickbooks has sufficed as a basic, constantly changing, discombobulated bookkeeper/invoicing platform.

Nobody that can be gotten a hold of to resolve issues know what is going on with the company they work for or have the knowledge or power to do anything about it.

Intuitive Accounting for Small Businesses

Komentarze: It's a great accounting software for small businesses, it's generally very reliable and the customer service is generally excellent. I wish the payroll offering was a little more robust so that I could also use it for that, but it integrates well with my payroll software so that's a nice silver lining.

It can sometimes be glitchy and a victim of random errors that can be extremely tedious to correct.

Deceptive Practices and Incompetent Support from QuickBooks

My experience with QuickBooks has been nothing short of a nightmare. I encountered an issue with the payroll setup due to an error on QuickBooks' side, and their support team advised me to cancel the setup. I was explicitly assured by their support representative that canceling the process would not result in any additional credit checks. However, to my shock and dismay, I discovered multiple hard credit checks on my credit report after following their advice. When I confronted QuickBooks support about this, they informed me that each direct deposit application triggers a credit check and that these checks are irreversible. This is a complete contradiction to the information I was initially given, where I was assured there would be no further checks. Furthermore, I was informed that our payroll threshold should have exempted us from any credit checks in the first place. The support representatives have proven to be utterly incompetent, providing misleading and incorrect information. Their failure to resolve this issue or even acknowledge their mistake is deeply concerning. It's clear that QuickBooks has no regard for the impact their actions have on their customers' credit ratings and overall financial health. Despite reaching out multiple times, their response has been dismissive and unhelpful. They merely reiterated their policies without taking any responsibility for the misinformation provided by their own support team. This lack of accountability and transparency is unacceptable for a company handling sensitive financial data. I strongly advise anyone considering QuickBooks to think twice. Their deceptive practices and inadequate support have caused significant damage to my credit score, and their refusal to rectify the situation speaks volumes about their customer service standards. If QuickBooks does not take immediate and appropriate action to resolve this matter, I will escalate this issue to the credit bureaus, the Better Business Bureau, and any other relevant authorities to ensure they are held accountable for their actions. Save yourself the trouble and look for a more reliable and customer-focused alternative to QuickBooks. This experience has been a clear indicator of their lack of professionalism and respect for their customers.

QuickBooks Online in the Right Hands of Accountant

Zalety:

QuickBooks Online facilitates 2 and 3 way POS matching tools which enables me to detect errors rapidly when paying vendors by matching invoices with POs and Payables.

Wady:

I am a daily user of QBO and I do not experience challenges when using it on my user end.
