Wonderful network switch port and IP address usage reporting product

Komentarze: I am extremely happy that I found this product because I was having a lot of trouble keeping up with IP address usage and network switch port usage. There wasn't a solution that I knew of that could easily gather all of this information in one place.

Zalety:

I didn't know there was a product that could integrate with DHCP servers and switches in such a way that it could easily report usage and availability. It is great at these items. Their support is wonderful and quick.

Wady:

Sometimes the software reports having issues connecting to network switches periodically. But it really isn't a con, because it connects at least once a day and new devices don't get added to my networks that often.

Komentarze: ManageEngine OpUtils is as a comprehensive and user-friendly network management tool for almost any size of organizations though scalability can be a limitation , It offers range of features which helps in simplifying network monitoring and IP address management.

Zalety:

1) Time saving -automation with the help of OpUtils ,network admin can have automated backups ,IP tracking 2) Wake on LAN -helps in waking up inactive devices in very efficient way. 3)Integration with other manage engine tools such as OpManager 4) Compliance and audit support

Wady:

1) Limited scalability 2) Limited customization options 3)Compatibility issues .

Good product for the price.

Komentarze: Pretty good at all. We'll subscribe to OpUtils soon. Beware of the cost, who is pretty hard to define

IPAM Survey

Komentarze: All i want is something to reflect IP address usage and operate in real time.

Zalety:

It was easy to install and configure. Not a bad interface

Wady:

Couple things.Get rid of the adds at the top bar. I bought a product, I don't want repeated notifications to buy others. Turns me off completely to looking at all the other offerings.The scan is too slow and does not update often enough to reflect changes in DNS.When scrolling down a range to find an IP, the view resets and puts me back at the top of the adress space no matter what I do it will not refresh every minute.Login window is confusing.SSO setup is misleading and documentation is inaccurate.

OpUtils is one of the best Network Monitoring and Management software

Komentarze: I have been using this product for almost 8 years. Easy to use and manage and it has intuitive features and dashboard.

Zalety:

I like the network tools and interface monitoring feature of the software and it compares configuration changes and it saves running as we as start-up configuration changes that is next level and the configuration backup schedule is way to much.

Wady:

Configuration backup for Nexus and HPE Aruba is not fully functional.

OpUtils is a great tool for small IT department

Komentarze: I use OpUtils to manage my IPs within my network. Primarily this is useful when certain networks have only static entries and it is harder to know what IPs are still available. Additionally I have been able to use the Switch section to locate which port in the switch a device was plugged into.

Zalety:

Ease to use is one of the best features. Additionally the layout is fairly easy to understand.

Wady:

I have some trouble with the automatic scans not working and often have to manual update the available IP list.

Useful tool for switchport management and reporting

Zalety:

Ease of use & Cost are important factors. We also like the user interface and reporting features.

Wady:

Integration options are not the best between other products.

ITRS - OpUtils review

Komentarze: Bought as part of a wider package with Service Desk, Security Tools, etc. First impressions are good, but would benefit from some enhancements. It does what was described, but could be a little better.

Zalety:

Simple to use, quick to install and get up and running.

Wady:

Lack of subnet naming in the tree-view part of the GUI.

Reasonable price, it provides a great view into our network

Komentarze: I'm the type to jump in and try a product without reading the docs. With Manage Engine products, you need help or you need to hit the books, OpUtils is no different, that said, every ME product I've used lives up to the promise of providing data that would otherwise be difficult to compile.

Zalety:

We need a product like OpUtils to fulfill a compliance requirement. The price is reasonable and setup was relatively easy. I like that I can tie together the network scan results with data pulled from my switch. I get a much more comprehensive view of what is on my network. The rogue device identification is great but took some time to sort out (identify) non-rogue devices.

Wady:

OpUtils has the ability to link up with a firewall but I'm running a SonicWall. That link is not available at this time. I run DHCP from my SonicWall so I'm missing DHCP data. I have submitted a feature request. I found a few of the configuration entry points unintuitive.

Review of OpUtils

Komentarze: I like the product and it costs very low. Many customers can think to buy it to improve the visibility of the environment.

Zalety:

It has two specific feature; IPAM (IP Address Management) and SPM (Switch Port Mapping). The IPAM is very useful when managing many subnets on the environment. The SPM is also useful to decrease the security concerns as increasing the visibility of the environment. It can identify the rogue devices as well.

Wady:

The product can do IP Address Management but it cannot show the old time data for the IPs occupied by which devices. If this is implemented to the product, it can help solving and understanding the issues happened in the past as analyzing IP address leasing for specific date/time. Additionally, the visibility of device types on the environment can be improved as fetching data via WMI, SSH, SNMP, etc.

Great tool, requires more acces to ther vendors for ip-addresing process.

Komentarze: It offers a great view for switch port mapper, but laks ofr ip-addressing information from other vendors diffrerent from cisco.

Zalety:

I gives a great view about port usage and addressing allocation in the network

Wady:

for IP addressing management, it works well witch Cisco, but it does not wir well with other brands, line Palo Alto.. I have the DHCP of my vlans running in a centralized firewall (PaloAlto) and the Ip addressing is not capable of get information form them.

ManageEngine OpUtils

Komentarze: We have been able to have a complete overview of our network devices connectivity status across our various locations.

Zalety:

The network monitor module. Allows you to view the connectivity status of all monitored devices.

Wady:

It can be quite complex to configure some of the modified modules.

ManageEngine Oputils

Komentarze: Great, it checks all the boxes for what we need. Its cost effective, support is always great and its easy to use.

Zalety:

Ease of Use and installation. Support always resolves any issues in a timely manner, that's why we have multiple ManageEngine products.

Wady:

I honestly have nothing bad to say about the product. If you keep it updated, then you shouldn't run into any issues.

Network Manager

Komentarze: I happy with this product, I have been using to for 8 years and they keep adding features, Price are very reasonable for such amazing product

Zalety:

OpUtils helping me tracking IP-MAC addresses easily and monitor my 200 switches easily too, saves me a lot of time and effort

Wady:

Can add firewalls such Palo Alto as a router and get ARP table to feed the database.

Great network insights

Gives great statistics and insight into our network.

Wady:

I wish it would integrate with other ManageEngine products, specifically AD SelfService for MFA login.

The IP Address Management (IPAM) in OpUtils has been quite useful for mapping and tracking our IP address range. The attribute of advanced IP scanning allow detecting IP availability in real time which helps avoid conflicts and utilize the IPs efficiently. The centralized console is convenient for viewing and organizing multiple subnets.

Wady:

It is observed that OpUtils could have been better optimized for scalability in handling large networks. It becomes very tedious during the process of subnet scanning and hence may take a lot of time to get the latest information.

ManageEngine OpUtils’ Bandwidth Monitor has proved to be an incredibly useful tool to assist in monitoring the network bandwidth. We have also noticed that we can be on top of interface traffic and utilization to tell that we have a choke point.

Wady:

A disadvantage of this software is that it cannot be hosted on the cloud. This limits its capabilities to allow for centralised remote administration and management of the network and teamwork across different regions.

Komentarze: Overall it has been a good experience, with a bit for focus on support this could be a great product. I will still continue to use this daily as it's the most robust solution in the price bracket.

The ability to turn on endpoints from an off state, the wake on lan functionality it provides me is very useful to me and my users.

Wady:

While mostly ok, the customer support needs some improvement. You pay for this in the annual fee and I have had one issue in particular that they cannot solve
